Announcing our Executive Chef, Leola Johnson

March 11, 2017

Long Beach Lesbian Gay Pride, Inc. introduces our chef for the year 2017, Chef Leola Johnson. Chef Leola moved to Long Beach in 2013, at which time she gained employment as a government employee with the LB Navy Ship Yard, where she has been employed for 4 years as a Steward Baker/Executive Chef. She graduated from Le Cordon Bleu College of Culinary Arts with an Associate Degree in Culinary Arts in 2015 and Baking in 2016. In April 2016, Leola started her own business Tasty Foodie Foods Inc.

Leola shared her passion for cooking with Long Beach Pride™, in 2016. She provided a scrumptious meal for the membership at our Annual Kick-off Dinner, just to give you an idea of the food she prepared, we were served West African Chicken Stew over lightly scented jasmine rice, several varieties of salads (Cesar, House, and Vegetable) with homemade dressings and for dessert we devoured the homemade strawberry shortcake.

Leola has continued to be a part of various Long Beach Pride™, events. She has participated in the Belmont Shore Christmas Parade, Daisy Lane Parade, Martin Luther King Parade and our annual Installation Dinner. She has on several occasions surprised our membership with dinner, which was truly a delight.

This year as we celebrate our 34th year, Long Beach Pride™, brings Chef Leola Johnson to our Festival Compound where she will be responsible for the nourishment of our membership and volunteers, averaging approximately 200+ each day.

Welcome, Executive Chef Leola Johnson!
